Neighborhood Nip Hu$$le gets in some interview time with True Stories Radio. Peep him out and don't forget to check his site.

It's 7 MINUTES with Crooked I...nuff said.

So if you thought that Skeme just dropped his mixtape so he could disappear then you obviously don't know him too well. He's actually been in the studio that much harder with the likes of 1500 or Nothin, NuJersey Devil, Problem and more that I won't mention at the moment. He's preparing Dead Presidents with NuJersey Devil and some other people that may have Skeme a bit more known after it drops. For now he shot me this freestyle...though I'm not one to listen to anyone's redux of D.O.A. by Jay-Z (except Trey Songz because he did that right), I'm always curious to see what Skeme has to offer to the public. So peep it out as it will start Skeme's Music Mondays that will go down right here.

Looks like one of Drake's first interviews since signing to Young Money. Peep it out.

Dedicated to NY's most popular seaside area, Jones Beach...Nike drops these AF 1's for the masses. I think these are a cool look for the summer. Sand colored wth the aqua gel bottoms...NIIICEE (c) Fabolous. Now next Nike needs to make some Venice, Hermosas and maybe some Air Malibu's or something. Calling my Nike ID contact NOW!!!

Tash of the Alkaholiks drops his first video from his forthcoming project on Almagam Digital. Peep it out. West Coast veteran.

Spotted this over at HighSnobiety. I was feeling it. Check it out.

Fabolous performance from The Takeover Radio Show on Vimeo.

Jeremih performance from The Takeover Radio Show on Vimeo.

Our pals over at The Takeover Radio Show caught some good footage of Def Jam's artists doing their LIVE thing at the Def Jam pre-Awards party this past Friday. Fabolous up top and Jeremih right above this text. Check it out.

I told you that they were dropping one of my favorite shoes in it's OG colorways soon...well to get you hyped up and in the know about it...they dropped a trailer as part of the hype machine. Peep it out.

Pac Div gets in some bars over a classic beat while visiting Green Lantern. Check it out...yo Like, Be, Mibbs I see ya'll. Now send me that Church League Champ ish.

Bad Lucc sent this over to me yesterday and I forgot to post it...smh at myself. Shake has it up so I'm going to swipe his link. Read below to get a background on the group:

Put the Gorillaz, Outkast and the Beastie Boys together in a cheap motel room with a microphone and you may come close to the sound of The Freshmen. The group consists of three members; Kristo (mc), A. Wolf (mc) and THX (producer) hailing from the Bay Area and Los Angeles, California. Their first single, “Hello There” ft. Nio Tha Gift has already garnered them both critical acclaim and a growing presence on the radio dial. Currently they are hard at work on their upcoming debut.

Off the Don Cannon x DJ Skee's Crips and Bloods: Made In America, the music to go along with the Baron Davis produced movie that I wanted to check out back in February. The track is called America and was done by Compton emcee Problem. Swiped from OnSmash.

Clipse feat Pharrell Im Good Behind the Scene Video from Electric Army on Vimeo.

I posted the audio, I posted part 1 so I have to keep it going with part 2 of the behind the scenes. As you can tell...The Clipse did make all this happen in our city. The Clipse show LA love...so we should show it back.

Tunji & Toby aka Inverse have a new video that you can vote for on MTVU.com...so after you watch it here, go there and vote for it into rotation. Support your own folks and we can start to see more of our talent on TV. Complaining about how we never see new acts or we never see West Coast artists on MTV or BET isn't going to solve it...it's up to the people to demand it.

That moment everyone has been waiting for...Drake signs a nice deal and now the machine can go to work for arguably the rookie with undeniably THE MOST buzz in the industry. Once again...HARD WORK pays off. Period.

I think the headline speaks for itself. Peep it out.

I know I've posted some stuff of theirs before and they keep a good camaraderie with a number of Los Angeles acts so might as well get to know them a little better.

Now as I was hooping, drinking, and eating BBQ with these artists above yesterday in Ladera Park for the Eighty's Baby festivities...nowhere in that timeframe did Shawn tell me about this song he's leaking today. That Shawn Chrys is always full of surprises. Peep it out, it's produced by Zaire Koalo. A City With No Seasons coming August 11th...be ready.

Whatever the story is behind these...I don't care you will have to search for yourself. I think these are a tragedy to the AJ 1 legacy. If I change my mind it will be because I saw them in person and they were better looking. Based off this pic...I'm not checking for these on July 7th and I won't post the other screen shots.

I premiered the CDQ here, I like the song and the video dropped after the BET awards...which I was not home for because I was at the Eighty's Baby BBQ drinking and hooping with rappers like Chris Focus, Y-O, Shawn Chrys & Basicali...oh yeah Soulja Boy Tell'em. I hear there is some footage being edited and then you'll be able to see what I'm talking about. For now enjoy what I think was a necessary track from Shawn. I don't care what folks say, this song is hard and very necessary...DEAL with it. Borrowed from OnSmash.

2MORROW NIGHT

My lovely lady pal Sterling Victorian just hit me up about her FREE show tomorrow as part of her band Crazedotcom. They will be rocking at Grand Star, yes the same place as Broccoli Kung Pao...most likely in the downtown part of Grand Star. So it looks like you can see two different shows in the same building, DOPE.

My (2)Dope Final Weekend In L.A. from 2dopeboyz.com on Vimeo.

My FCC fam Meka was pretty much at all the places I was this weekend so it's only right to show you what we saw. If you didn't know Meka will be moving to NY on Friday...we'll miss his cameos in LA but when opportunity knocks you have to answer sometimes and not treat them like Jehovah's Witnesses. Don't fret though...2dopeboyz will continue to keep the party going and we'll still be supporting it.

No matter what your passion is in life, your calling, your career move...Michael Jackson was an influence. My youngest brother is an animator, he has no desire to hit the stage, he doesn't dance much but still, Michael has made an impact on his life as Mike actually impacted us all, if he didn't I wouldn't have posted this, my brother wouldn't have drawn it, Y-O wouldn't moonwalk during UNI shows, Kanye wouldn't try to make many musicals at his concert, 50 wouldn't want to perform all over the world with his music, Chris Brown wouldn't dance like he does, Oprah wouldn't give to poor countries, etc. No matter what Michael did, he did it big and he did it his way...as we all should strive to do in our own lives. So over this weekend...celebrate his life because it's a part of yours.

So yeah this is going down on Sunday night...Busta Rhymes, Eve, The Clipse, Big Sean & Electrik Red. If you want to go RSVP and get some more info from my boys at Eye Rated Inc. and if you need Bottle Service then you'd want to hit them up sooner than later. Early arrival is a good idea as well.

A nice private party at a secret location for Nobody Famous' newest project. You should recognize his name from a track we leaked right here. HOPE will perform live and I just go word El Prez was added to the bill. Go here to RSVP and get your passes and address to this event. Food, Drank and good music...cmon now.

I don't think I posted this already...Crooked I reps us, so even if the group itself isn't Left Coast, we represent Crooked I and who he's spittin with. On top of that MOP is on the track. Enjoy. Oh and Slaughterhouse EP dropping August 11th.

What is their connection besides their names all being 2 syllables??? I think Mack 10 gave the other two their street credibility and they owe these tracks to him. At any rate Inglewood's first 'star' has remixed this song with Ross of course and below is the mp3. The pic is from the shoot they did a couple weeks ago for this song. So excited...(crickets).

I keep forgetting to post this up for some reason...here are some LA emcees with some visuals to their audio. Enjoy.

So this song was premiered on DJ Booth.net's show last night and is now featured right here. So go there, get it and bang it this weekend and from here on out. I mean two of Inglewood's next stars put this together to honor their city which is still a branch of THE city...so salute. Shouts to El Prez & Shawn Chrys.

Humans from wrangler on Vimeo.

So I'm not really into Wrangler by any means but I saw that this new campaign received some good acclaim as well as an award at the Cannes Festival. So though the fashion is not for me...I'm a sucker for cool visuals. Peep it out and see more photos over here.

So I showed you the Raider colorway for these OG Bo Jacksons as we called them (the correct name being the post title) not too long ago. Well in August the original colorway is dropping at Foot Locker stores. Bo Jacksons are summer shoe that everybody rocked and kept clean so you could stunt on fools when you went back to school too...I'mma need these!!! Spotted here.

Three of the top 10 picks in yesterday's NBA Draft are from Los Angeles County...I'm rocking with that. LA stand up!!!

If you know UNI on any level, a fan, a family member or maybe you've caught them perform once or twice...then you know the impact that MJ has on these guys. And from this footage you can see the effect the death has made on them here, and you can see how it has effected many others elsewhere. Keep in mind UNI is on the other side of the world right now and heard this happen. Though UNI is from here, you can see the impact worldwide in this video. Peep how music truly bridges worlds.

Thursday, June 25, 2009

Guess what...it's Thursday so Thurzday was feeling this song for today. West Coast classic.

I'll let UNDRCRWN tell you about this:

Coming off of the the success of the popular SPRING 2009 MUSIC SERIES
UNDRCRWN eases into the summer months by offering a preview of the 2009 SUMMER MUSIC SERIES
The first offering in the lineup is the
De La Soul x UNDRCRWN Signature Caricature Tee

Pos, Dove and Maseo are pictured on the tee wearing space suits (subtly referencing the album cover art for AOI: Bionix).
The vibrant prints set against a soft grey heather, pay homage to the iconic albums "3 Feet High and Rising" and "Stakes Is High"
This limited edition tee is made of a soft ringspun cotton- perfect for those overly hot and humid days.

You can get yours...here.

BCTV x FABOLOUS

BCTV: ONE ON ONE WITH LOSO from Broccolicity TV on Vimeo.

We good with Fab, we good with Broccoli City...so why wouldn't we?

These are available here if you're interested...I don't mind the red ones.

NAS & DAMIAN "JR GONG" MARLEY DISTANT RELATIVES preview from nabil elderkin on Vimeo.

The collab overall just interests me and that's what it is...they'll also be rockin Rock the Bells. Peep this EPK for these two.

El Prez - Cop trees (Live @ Mountain Bar, Los Angeles 6/14/09) from AlwaysHustle.com on Vimeo.

More footage from that show with most of your LA favs...you can see all the videos from the night here.

So Nike SB made this HD project that you can download here...check it out.

Laker Parade 2009 from Language Artz on Vimeo.

Future from Language Artz lets us in on his Laker Parade experience. Peep it out.

Shawn Chrys dropped his single last night at midnight but I was watchin' robots that change shapes and forms battle it out inside a dome called the ArcLight. So here it is...enjoy. OH, and the debut album drops August 11th. Congrats bro.

SOOOOOOOOO...the Clippers will (rather BETTER) draft the man above so that they can look to be like the other LA team pictured above him, or forever just be known as LA's other team. NBA Draft tomorrow...ESPN.

The good people at Nooka put a touch on HeyDay's limited sneaker (20 pairs I hear). I'm not a fan of the shoe...but if you notice I posted that exact watch not too long ago. Well that great pattern is used in the shoe, see the straps and toe. The white colorway will drop later this year where as the black version will be at Nooka's pop up store, popping up July 9th in NYC at Odin's DEN (E. 11th).

So these aren't to be releasing til February 2010 but these guys here say they will have them sooner than later. Now as far as me and the Spiz'ikes go...i usually like the ones that look more like the original 3's. So the white with the gray, the 'true blues' and now these...besides that don't even point the others out to me. I may see whattup with these early...yeahhhhhhh.

Concept City Presents: Diz Gibran Live at Nokia Club from Broccolicity TV on Vimeo.

All apart of the Broccoli City family, Concept City is the music division and got a good summary of Diz' performance up at Club Nokia the night of my bday. Diz had some words for me...and when it comes to Diz it's deeper than rap, blog, etc. He's a good person and I wish him continued success. Peep it out friends.

I know I've posted things from Akomplice before but I thought this was an interesting collabo. The two companies are from two different countries but have a mutal respect for each other and a working relationship...to reflect this they put out this collab and with the different designs some colorways are made by Akomplice others by Wemoto (you'd have to check the tag). The other cool thing is that the brands will push the other brand's pieces in their native country. Now that's internationally connected. So you can go to Akomplice or Wemoto.

Same show Diz & The Clipse rocked...well my boys at Pac Div were there as well. Check them out.

Clipse feat Pharrell - I'm Good Behind The Scenes from Malice of the Clipse on Vimeo.

I mean the Clipse have been hanging tough in Los Angeles...they're very much connected out here. So during the duration they chilled with DJ Skee as well as shot the video for I'm Good (a perfect song to roll out too). Peep both videos out.

With some changes on the business end that will not be disclosed here, Problem has been working hard and pumping out new material. This is the tentative radio single entitled Motor Bike and has a bit of the flavor of his last radio smash "Wherever You Like". I also have a track which will probably be the street single...it features DJ Quik and Jim Jones...if you act right I'll probably drop that tomorrow. For now download this and hit up Problem with feedback. It's not mastered yet so consider this a preview. Produced by 1500 or Nothin'!!!

NOOKA x UNDRCRWN

I like when two brands I'm feeling do a fresh collabo...it's colorful, it's abstract and they're limited. The ZENV watch is limited to 200 pieces and goes for $275. So head right over here and grab yours (or mine).

Diz Gibran - Capital D (Live @ Mountain Bar, Los Angeles 6/14/09) from AlwaysHustle.com on Vimeo.

Diz Gibran - Dark End Of The Street (Live @ Mountain Bar, Los Angeles 6/14/09 from AlwaysHustle.com on Vimeo.

H.O.P.E - H-O-P-E (Live @ Mountain Bar in Los Angeles, 6/14/09) from AlwaysHustle.com on Vimeo.

So remember that show I told you about at Mountain Bar the day the Lakers won the 'ship??? You know it had HOPE, Dom Kennedy, El Prez, TiRon, Diz Gibran & UNI??? Well here is some footage from HOPE & Diz' sets. Diz running through Capital D (one of my fav's from Soon You'll Understand) and the track he put out last week, Dark End of the Street (he premiered it at Mountain Bar). HOPE runs through one of my faves off Follow the Leader: H.O.P.E. Meka has more at his place.

BCTV: SNEAKER FRIENDS 09 from Broccolicity TV on Vimeo.

So my boy B was out in the ATL for a minute so what did he do...take BCTV with him and get it in down south...caught up with folks like GLC, Andre 3000, MC Shan and more. Peep it out. Shouts to Broccoli City, don't forget they have Broccoli Kung Pao 2nite too...

My boy Jason Parham did an article for VIBE with the Pac Div boys and has a full transcription of it over at his spot. Below is an summary:

“What it is Pac Div, what it is?” In early March I interviewed the auspicious Cali trio for Vibe’s Real Rap Issue (on newsstands now) in anticipation of their forthcoming major label release on Universal, applicably titled Grown Kid Syndrome. Below I’ve provided the full nine-page transcript of our meeting at L.A.’s Farmer’s Market on a rather frigid, and surprisingly windy, March afternoon. What you’ll read is a conflation of good times, as Pac Div speak on not being able to keep a girl because of their addiction to rap, why Ghostface is like a “good pair of drawers,” and how they have a new-found appreciation for The-Dream. They also offer a small preview of what to expect with Church League Champions, the precursor to their highly-anticipated debut. READ MORE.

THE CLIPSE, DIZ GIBRAN & TERRY KENNEDY Exclusive Interviews

This took place the day of my birthday, remember that show I told you about at Club Nokia? Yeah well Myspace Music caught up with a few of the acts in the building. Enjoy. I SEE YOU Val, haha.

Like I said, CurT@!N$ would be dropping his mixtape and I'd have it. He's from NY but he's always in support of the LA scene...though he says he will never support the Lakers, lol. Gotta respect it tho...anyways here is his newest featuring Bun-B, Tyrese and a track produced by the Adjicktivz. Enjoy. Shouts to Ody

So not only did Shawn get featured on MySpace's Music page as a featured artist...so go check out Myspace peep his feature out and download his mixtape which is killing right now. Oh and wait till you see the news he shared with me last night. Keep it up young man.
